Chesty Puller Marine Legend: His Life In Pictures

Many I’ve never seen before. Great tribute to Chesty!
~Cpl. Beddoe

Lieutenant General Lewis Burwell “Chesty” Puller (June 26, 1898 – October 11, 1971) was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Puller is the most decorated U.S. Marine in history, and the only Marine to be awarded five Navy Crosses. During his career, he fought guerrillas in Haiti and Nicaragua, and participated in some of the bloodiest battles of World War II and the Korean War. [Wikipedia]

In 1950, Recon Co., was attached to 1st Marines, on line at koto-ri when Col. Puller made the rounds and thanked us “Recon Boys” for joining him in “His Party!” Only Chesty would do that—we appreciated that. Semper Fi General Puller, I was honored to have served in your command. There will never be another like you!

How sad that the current crop of “leaders” in Washington (in toto) and in the White House could not hold a candle to Gen. Puller’s simple honesty and high standards. Sad for the ole’ USA! Semper Fi.
