UH-34 pilot with HMM-362 “Ugly Angels,” Captain Ben Cascio flew over 850 missions in Vietnam. On April 28, 1968, wounded and partially blinded during a medevac in Quang Tri, he helped guide his crew to safety, earning the Silver Star and Distinguished Flying Cross. After retiring in 1969, he became a lawyer in New Jersey and later assisted in restoring a UH-34, flying it at air shows to honor his fellow Marines.
