Top 5 Things Marines Love About the Other Branches (Sort Of)

The Marine Corps has a long-standing tradition of giving the other branches a hard time. But deep down, every Marine knows the truth: we need the other branches (well, maybe just a little). Here are five things Marines begrudgingly admit they appreciate about each branch.

Army

Their Historical Legacy
You can’t argue with the significance of battles like Normandy or Gettysburg. Their history is solid.

Sheer Numbers
Marines might be lean and mean, but when we need reinforcements, it’s comforting to know the Army can send a small country’s worth of people.

Their Tents
Army guys know how to camp in style. Marines? We just dig holes and call it home.

The National Guard Saves the Day
When natural disasters strike, it’s always the Army National Guard pulling people from floodwaters or snowdrifts. Respect where it’s due.

Ranger School
Their Rangers are tough, and we’ll admit, that tab does carry some weight.

Navy

Taxi Service
How else would we storm beaches without the Navy to give us a ride? Keep the engines running; we’ll be back before chow.

Nuclear Submarines
A metal tube under the ocean armed with enough firepower to end the world? That’s hardcore.

Their Sense of Humor
Navy sailors might be our favorite people to trade insults with. It’s like sibling rivalry.

Corpsmen
Navy Corpsmen are the only sailors we’ll openly admit to liking. They patch us up and charge into hell with us. Semper Fi, Doc!

Their Sea Shanties
Okay, maybe not official ones, but sailors can spin a tale or sing a tune like no other.

Air Force

Hotels with Runways
While we’re digging fighting holes, Air Force folks are shacking up in five-star accommodations. Jealous? Maybe.

Their High-Tech Gadgets
If it’s shiny, high-tech, and expensive, it’s probably Air Force property.

Precision Air Strikes
When Marines need something blown up from above, the Air Force delivers. Respect.

Their Facilities
Gyms, pools, and lounges… Air Force bases feel more like country clubs. Must be nice.

The AC Everywhere
Every Air Force building feels like a meat locker. How do you guys not freeze to death in those offices?

Coast Guard

Saving Lives
No jokes here, these guys are legit heroes when it comes to rescuing people at sea.

Boating Skills
Marines can barely paddle a Zodiac without flipping it. Coasties? They can run circles around us in a hurricane.

Their Resilience
Coast Guard members face the toughest environments with unwavering resolve. No matter how intense the mission, they never back down.

Their Quiet Confidence
They don’t brag, but they’re always there, doing the job. Respect.

Maritime Law Enforcement
Chasing smugglers and pirates? That’s the stuff of legends.

We Marines give the other branches a lot of grief, but it’s all part of the military family dynamic. In the end, every branch has its strengths, and when we work together, there’s no force on earth that can stop us. Just don’t expect us to admit any of this out loud.

Have other thoughts? Sound off! Semper Fi!
